Andriy Gonchar and Artem Yarovinsky from Velta Holding US company outlined the Velta Ti Process at Titanium USA 2022. Work on this process was announced in October 2017 at the TiO2 World Summit in Alicante, Spain, an interim progress report was presented in October 2019 at the TiO2 World Summit in Berlin.
Velta Ti Process – is a process of producing titanium metal powder from ilmenite concentrate, which features the implementation of special technology which controls particle size distribution (PSD) for titanium metal powders, resulting in the production of non-spherical, spherical titanium powders and its alloys, with low and extremely low oxygen content.
The high economic efficiency of the process allows the production of different types of titanium metal powders (non-spherical and spherical shape) at low cost.
